Ingredients

For the Baklava Layers

  • 1 package Phyllo Dough
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter

For the Nut Filling

  • 2 cups Walnuts
  • 1 cup Pistachios
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Cloves

For the Honey Syrup

  • 1 cup Honey
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 tsp Orange Zest

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare the Nut Filling
    Finely chop the walnuts and pistachios.
    Mix them in a bowl with cinnamon and ground cloves. Set aside.
  • Step 2: Prepare the Phyllo Dough
    Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
    Brush a baking dish with melted butter.
    Layer phyllo sheets, brushing each one with butter.
  • Step 3: Assemble the Baklava
    Sprinkle a portion of the nut mixture over the buttered phyllo.
    Repeat layering phyllo and nuts until all ingredients are used.
    Cut the assembled baklava into diamond or square shapes before baking.
